But it goes further than that. There is the old adage about teaching a man to fish, rather than just giving him food. Building a home follows the same principals as rebuilding a life – if we’re going to make a difference, we must start from the ground up. Working with local organizations and municipal agencies, the recipients of the donated tiny shelters are trained on how to build their own shelters from a pre-fabricated kit shipped to the shelter site. This is the foundation of this person’s life. Physically elevating one’s life from the ground up, by building their own shelter and learning a skill.
